Business Insider named Jesse Robbins one of the 30 most successful early-stage startup investors of 2024. An investor in developer tools and infrastructure, his entry cited investments in Fastly, PagerDuty, LaunchDarkly, and CircleCI. Robbins cofounded Chef and the DevOps movement.

Business Insider published the list in January 2024. Grateful to the founders, my partners at Heavybit, and everyone who made the work possible.

Since this came out…

  1. LaunchDarkly is nearing $200M in annual recurring revenue, with growth re-accelerating past 20% year over year as enterprises adopt its AI guardrails. More than a quarter of the Fortune 500 now run on it.
  2. My friend Edith Harbaugh returned as CEO of LaunchDarkly, the company she cofounded. By then it had made the Forbes Cloud 100 several years running and joined the 2025 Inc. 5000 of fastest-growing private companies in America.
