I wrote the Heavybit announcement when Continue joined the portfolio. The AI developer tools that win meet engineers where they already work, and Continue does that by integrating large language models directly into VS Code and JetBrains rather than asking developers to copy-paste between apps.
That fit is part of why we backed the team. Open-source posture and IDE-native design were the reasons the company stood out inside Heavybit's broader bet that the next decade of developer tools will be defined by how naturally AI assistance fits into the existing flow.
