Ex-Amazon 'Master of Disaster' Animates Server Chef

The Register profiled my move from Amazon's Master of Disaster role to co-founding Opscode and launching Chef, tracing the line from reliability engineering to infrastructure as code.
The piece that put the "Master of Disaster" framing in front of a global tech audience and connected it to Chef. Cade Metz drew the line from the GameDay practice at Amazon to the design of Chef and treated them as the same idea in two mediums.
This was the early Opscode era. We were trying to get people to understand that infrastructure as code was a way of running a company, not a tool category.
The Register does not hand out compliments. Being El Reg's "Master of Disaster" and having them say something nice was a whole moment for me.
