The Register profiled my move from Amazon's Master of Disaster role to co-founding Opscode and launching Chef, tracing the line from reliability engineering to infrastructure as code.
The piece that put the "Master of Disaster" framing in front of a global tech audience and connected it to Chef. Andrew Orlowski did the work of explaining why the GameDay practice at Amazon and the design of Chef were the same idea expressed in two different mediums.
This was the early Opscode era, when we were trying to get people to understand that infrastructure as code was not a tool category. It was a way of running a company.
